This morning the Owls had two very special visitors, Karl's mommies, Meredith and Christina. They came in to read us a book and do a fun art project. First Meredith read us Leonardo the Terrible Monster by Mo Willems (one of the Owls' favorite authors!). After reading, Christina explained to us the art project. To go along with the book, we made monsters, Paint Monsters!
To make a Paint Monster you need paper, a straw, and paint (dropper is optional)! First you get a piece of paper, then choose your paint color. Using the dropper, friends squeezed the paint onto the paper, and then with a straw blew it around. This makes funny shapes. The neat thing about Paint Monsters is that everyone is unique.
Once the paint is dry, you add eyes, arms, legs, tails, feet and pretty much anything you would like to your monster.
Don't forget to name your monster!
Ask your Owl what color(s) they chose to make their Paint Monster.
