Rather than walk outside in the very very cold, the Owls decided to have Meeting for Worship in the classroom. This way everyone was able to stay warm and comfortable. During Meeting, each Owl was given a picture of a friend. Throughout the Meeting, friends took turns telling the friend, whose picture they had, what they liked about them. This made friends' hearts feel happy and full.
Here is a list of what friends said to one another.
Lily to Shiv: I like that you play with me.
John Henry to Solomon: How nice and calmly he talks to me.
Solomon to Meadow: I like you because I like to play with you.
Peyton to John Henry: I like to play with you.
Caroline to Kaya: She is nice to me.
Luca to Andrew: I like you because you are funny.
Meadow to Caroline: Because she lets me be her cat.
Kaya to Alma: Because you're a nice friend.
Carlos to Peyton: You are nice to me.
Shiv to Karl: Because he is funny to me.
Karl to Carlos: That he is funny.
Alma to Lily: Because you let me play with you.
Andrew to Luca: Because you're funny.
The Owls have a new item in the classroom. SQUIGZ! Friends (and teachers) absolutely LOVE Squigz. You can use them to build all different types of structures, or even just pull them apart to hear the fun popping sound.
Next up was Music with Keisha. We walked into the music room to the beat of the drum.
We played a couple of games, where we moved all around the room.
Friends came back to circle to go over songs, and learn some new ones too!
In Library, Doris read us a few books about feelings. The Owls enjoyed listening to the stories about Sophie and her feelings, and what she did when she was feeling a certain way.
After reading with Doris, and checking out our own books, the Owls headed back to the classroom to listen to some research reports. Today we learned about an Eel, Puma, and Gecko.
Ask your Owl to tell you a fact about an Eel, Puma, or Gecko, or all three!
