This morning the Owls had a special visitor, Carlos' mom, Mariana. Mariana came in to make fresh apple juice with us! Before juicing, we discussed how an apple is a solid but once put into the juicer becomes a liquid. We used red, yellow, and green apples. Friends made predictions about what color the juice would be depending on which color apple we used.

Friends took turns putting the apple pieces into the juicer.
Not only did we juice apples, but carrots too!
Next, friends came together to sample their fresh made juice.
We tried the juice from the red and yellow apples, green apples, and carrots.
Friends thought the juice from the red and yellow apples was sweet, but that the juice from the green apples was sour.
The carrot juice had mixed reviews.
Since we tried the apples as a liquid, we wanted to try them as a solid too! Friends held up their colored paper to predict which apple would be the sweetest and which would be the tartest.
After making predictions on sweetest, tartest, and how many seeds in each, the Owls tried each apple. Red was voted the sweetest, and green the tartest.
Ask your Owl which apple they enjoyed most.
