Valentine's Day Celebrations

Dear Owl Families,

We hope that you are having an "OWL-tastic" weekend!

The Owls have a very exciting week ahead.  Friends will be celebrating Valentine's Day on Thursday, with an Early Childhood Community meal and shared dessert and lemonade. So friends will bring in their usual lunch, and we will be making drinks and dessert.

We will also be making mailboxes, so we are asking that each Owl bring in an empty shoebox or tissue box by Tuesday. Our plan is to use these mailboxes throughout the week, as a way for the Owls to write and draw notes of appreciation and gratitude for their friends. In line with the 1st graders' post office, we will also be inviting friends to write notes to friends in the larger lower school community.

As to providing valentine's cards for your child to distribute, you are certainly welcome to do so, but not required. If you will be bringing cards for your child to pass out, we ask that you DO NOT BRING CANDY. We will have the Owl's mailboxes available Thursday morning, if you want to distribute cards with your child. If you won't have time, please leave them with Samantha or me and we will help out. We will have a time in the morning for the Owls to take a peek in their boxes, and then send their notes and cards home with them Thursday afternoon.

Attached is a list of all our "HOOT-tacular" Owls for your Valentines if you are choosing to send them in.

As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to "hoot" at us!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend,

Your Owl Teachers,
Danielle and Samantha
