100th Day of School!

Today the Owls celebrated their 100th day of school! Since the first day of school friends have been counting down to the 100th, where they were going to have a big party! Friends began their morning celebrations by journaling. Friends were asked "I wished I had a 100.." Ask your Owl what they wished for.

After journaling, friends went on a 100 scavenger hunt.  Danielle and Samantha hid 100 one hundreds in the classroom and the Owls were asked to put on their detective hats and see if they could find all 100 one hundreds!

After our 100 hunt friends met on the front rug where they learned about their next 100 Day Challenge! Friends were asked to close their eyes and when they opened them there saw 100 balloons! The challenge was to see if they could blow up (using a hand pump) 100 balloons by the end of the day!

The 100th Day Celebration continued into Choice Time. One of the choices was a 100 cup stacking challenge. Friends had to work as a team to see if the could carefully stack all 100 cups without knocking the tower over! Ask your Owl what teamwork makes happen?

Before eating snack friends were asked to try and make a 100 out of graham crackers and regular crackers. This was a tasty challenge!

The second center for Choice Time was the 100th Day Fruit Loop Challenge. Friends put their one-to-one correspondence to the test, by using a 100 chart to help count out 100 Fruit Loops. When they were finished friends put their fine motor skills to the test, by stringing the Fruit Loops on a necklace. Finally friends put their taste buds to the test by enjoying their delicious necklaces.

At the drawing table friends were able to decorate a "100 Day Smarter" hat.

The final choice for Choice Time was to help make a 100 piece Mobius Strip chain!

To wrap up our morning friends went on one last "OWL-some" challenge. Friends were asked  to see if they could say "Hello" to 100 people! Not only did the Owls complete this challenge but they made many people smile!
